A neighborhood partnership

It's often been said that neighborhoods are the linchpins of Philadelphia. For the city as a whole to thrive, our neighborhoods must remain strong. But when times get tough, even linchpins can become vulnerable.

To fortify neighborhood commercial corridors — which are the economic anchors of many low- to moderate-income neighborhoods — the city will team up with the nonprofit Local Initiatives Support Corp. (LISC) in a new $5 million partnership to establish the Non Profit Acquisition Pool. Under the arrangement, the city will contribute $2 million to the joint pool and LISC will contribute $3 million.
